# How to use Exit Event in Automation workflows?

Exit item in automation workflow allows your contacts at certain path can opt out your flow. To add **Exit item** to the workflow:

# 1. New Automation


**Step 1**: **App > Automation > New workflow > Select the preset >** Click **Next**

**Step 2**: Drag and drop items into the workflow

**Exit** items can be dragged into branches of **Yes/No split**, **Multiple split, A/B Testing**

**Step 3**: Click Next and continue to complete the campaign

# 2 Edit Automation old

If you want to add Exit items to the old campaign:

**Step 1**: **App > Automation > Select Workflow Tab **

**Step 2**: Do the steps 2 steps as above

**Step 3**: Then click Save
