How to Manually Send a Message in a Workflow

Overview

There are several instances where you might want to manually send a message in a workflow, instead of allowing it to be sent automatically. In this article, we will show you how to send a message in a workflow manually in AVADA.

Manually send a message in a workflow

Once you have launched a workflow, your messages are triggered and will be sent as scheduled. However, if you want to manually send a message in a workflow, you can completely do this in AVADA.

Step 1: Navigate the Activities tab of your automation workflow

To get started, just choose a Live workflow in the Automation section right from your app dashboard. Then, head to the Activities section of the workflow.

You will see the All column together with 7 different activities (including Opened, Sent, Waiting, Stopped, Failed, Bounced, Complained).

Step 2: Choose the email you want to manually send

To manually send a message in a workflow, you just simply click the Send log icon.

Keep in mind that each workflow has several messages, so you can choose a message in the drop-down menu in the Emails field, which is next to Search by recipient. By clicking a message within the workflow, you will see all recipients are scheduled to receive the message.

Among 7 activities, there are some that can be manually sent, including:

Type 1: Opened/ Sent

When you click the Send log icon in these two activities, the message of "Do you want to resend this message?" will be shown as below. You can choose Send to manually send your message or Cancel to stop. Before you choose to send, please notice that you are about to send the exact same message to the recipient as the last time.

Type 2: Waiting/ Stopped/ Failed/ Bounced

When you click the Send log icon in these activities, the message of "Do you want to reforce sending this message?" will be shown as below. You can choose Send to manually send your message or Cancel to stop. Before you choose to send, please notice that it will be sent right away regardless of its status.

For example, when you try to manually send waiting messages, you will see the message below.

Type 3: Complained

You cannot manually send a message in the Complained activity.

Step 3: Confirm

Once you have done the previous steps, click "Send" to complete the process. A popup will be displayed to show that the process has been successfully implemented.
