In this article, you will be guided to create automated customer birthday emails. You can send customers discount codes in email as a gift.

Step 1: Select workflow event and preset

In your app, select Automation > New workflow



Next, tick Special Occasions and select the preset of Customer Birthday event



A preview of the workflow will be displayed. Select Next to edit the workflow.



If you don't want to use the preset, you can create a new event by: Select Blank > Customer Birthday > Next





Step 2: Edit workflow

At Start event, you can choose to start on or before the customer's birthday.

For before customer's birthday, you need to fill in information for day(s) before, Hour, Minute and Timezone. Example: day(s) before = 7. Emails will be automatically sent to customers 7 days before their birthday at the time of day entered at Hour, Minute and Timezone.



For at customer's birthday you need to fill in the information for Hour, Minute and Timezone. Emails will be automatically sent to customers on their birthday with the time of day entered at Hour, Minute and Timezone.



For workflows, you can add items from Workflow Elements to the flow.



To edit each item, select them at the workflow and the right side of the screen will display a popup for you to edit. Here are detailed instructions for each item:

Email
SMS
Wait Time & Certain Time
Yes/No Splits
Multiple Splits
A/B Testing
Exit
Update contacts attributes

Step 3: Ready

After creating the workflow, select Next and fill in the information for your workflow.
Select Launch > Select Keep draft to save the draft, or select Go live now to get the workflow working right away.
