Today I will show you how to integrate AVADA Email Marketing with Magento 2 step by step.

Now it's time to get started.

Step 1: Register account

Go to AVADA Dashboard to register an account.

If you have an account already, you can skip this step.

Step 2: Install the integration module

There are 2 methods to install this module.

1. Install via composer (recommend)

Run the following command in Magento 2 root folder:

composer require mageplaza/module-smtp
php bin/magento setup:upgrade
php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy

2. Install from the .zip package file

Download the module here, read installation guide here.

Step 3: Setup API Key

Go to AVADA Dashboard > My Profile (on the top right) > Manage Keys

Copy App ID and Secret key

Step 1: Go to app store

Click Add app to install

Shopify will ask you to login your account, then go to step 3.

Step 3: Authorize permission

Click Install app to authorize the app permission.

Step 4: Go to AVADA Dashboard

Step 1: Add a new domain

Firstly, we need to add a new domain. Please kindly navigate to your Avada Dashboard and find your way to the 'Settings' and then 'Emails'.

Next, please click on 'Add domain' at Sender domain.

At step 1, please enter your business domain. Remember, you don't need to include http/www (or https). Once you've entered your domain, click 'Next' to proceed.

How to set up separate senders for Marketing & Transactional Emails

There are two types of emails that you usually send to customers: Transactional Emails and Marketing Emails (or Promotional Emails). Each type of email has different contents, purposes and number of email sends in a certain period of time. So in this article we will learn about these two types of email, why we need a separate sender for each type of email and how to set up those senders in AVADA.

Distinguish 2 types of emails

Transactional Emails

These are emails with personalized content for each recipient.
Usually sent after a customer has taken a specific action on the store such as sign up, view products, purchase…
The main purpose is to maintain the existing relationship between the customer and the store.
Transactional emails often have the highest send-to-inbox chances and should be delivered to the customer as soon as possible because they often contain content related to the customer's store activity.
The number of transactional emails sent out at once will usually be lower than Marketing Email
Example: Order, Receipt or Shipment Confirmation; Welcome emails, Social Channel Invitations, Store Updates, etc.

Marketing Emails

These are emails containing marketing and promotional content.
Usually sent in bulk to a certain customer segment.
The main purpose is to encourage customers to take actions such as view new product, purchase, download information, etc.
Example: Promotional or Sale Email, Newsletter, Email Digest

How to configure Email Settings

Before you can send out any campaign in AVADA, you need to have a verified sender. You have three ways to add a sender:

Add your custom sender under AVADA domain to send your emails
Add your domain and use a sender belong to your domain
Send email via custom SMTP

In this guide, we will walk you through three step in Email setting. From the App Dashboard, go to Settings > Email

Step 1: Add sender

1.1 Add sender

Click Add sender button at Step 1

Add sender’s email

1.2 Verify email

Next, enter your Email address and Name, select Sender type, then click the Save button.

An email will be sent to your mailbox. Click on the Verify your email button in that email to confirm your email is a valid email address at a domain that belongs to you.
